fashion industry in the global market.
Fashion is no longer a mere glamour
hobby, but rather a very serious career
option. There has been an urgent need
for an institution which would guide,
impart, train and educate youngsters
in an honest, sincere and professional
manner, thereby preparing them to face
the challenges of a highly competitive
global fashion market.

NEIFT, we bring you an inspiring and

When I started my career as a fashion
designer, many of my friends and close
ones were apprehensive about the potentials
of the industry. Today the very same
people are proud of my fashion design
achievements, although personally
I feel, that I have yet to reach many
new horizons.
Today teenagers from the Northeast
aspire to be designers like me, and
until now had nowhere to go. I still
remember when I boarded the train
to New Delhi in 1990 to pursue my
career, due to the lack of proper
facilities in Guwahati. 
Thus the journey of NEIFT begins -
with the sole aim of providing a platform
where design students are at par with
there counterparts in metropoliton
cities like New Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore
and Kolkatta.
